Susanna Aleksandra

Susanna Aleksandra is a jazz vocalist, lyricist, and composer. Passionate for languages, she effortlessly plays with words and melodies, navigating through traditional, modern, and Latin Jazz. A natural storyteller, the charismatic singer holds the listener spellbound, making jazz approachable not only for jazz lovers.

Susanna Aleksandra collaborates with top-class jazz musicians, including the Steinway artist, pianist Joonas Haavisto, and Holger Marjamaa (the pianist of Chris Botti). In addition, she has shared the stage with Jukka Eskola, Teemu Viinikainen, Riitta Paakki, Timo Hirvonen, Jussi Lehtonen, Robert Hurst, Peter Bernstein, Chico Pinheiro, Mitchell Long (the guitarist of Melody Gardot), and many others. In Russia, she has performed with the legendary Igor Butman Quartet and the multi-instrumentalist David Goloshokin.

Susanna released her debut album ”Miracles” in 2015. Her second album ”Souls of the Night”, featuring some of the best Northern European jazz musicians, was released in Japan in March 2020 (Blue Gleam). The international version of the album will be released as ”The Siren” in January 2021 (Eclipse Music).

Susanna’s other passion besides music is languages. She holds a degree in French language and literature and is a fluent speaker of 6 languages. She loves to travel from place to place through music as well as communicating with the audience in their own language.

Susanna did her Bachelor in Jazz Performance in the prestigious Sibelius Academy in Finland. Currently, she is finishing her Master’s at the Sibelius Academy with professor Jukkis Uotila and Doctor Aija Puurtinen. In 2020, she received a scholarship to USC Thornton School of Music where she studied with the two-time Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist Sara Gazarek, Grammy-winner Bob Mintzer, and vocal coach MzLyndia Johnson.

In addition, she has participated in several Global Music Foundation courses, studying with the jazz diva Deborah Brown, Grammy-nominated vocalist René Marie, Pete Churchill and Guillermo Rozenthuler, and masterclasses led by Bob Stoloff, Carmen Lundy, Sinne Eeg, Aron Goldberg, Chico Pinheiro, Tim Hagans, Bruce Barth, and many others.
